Aveland Court Care Home was on the brink of closure by CQC a year ago due to concerns about the quality of care provided. However, our new team has successfully transformed the situation. Our unwavering focus has always been to deliver exceptional care to our residents. As a team, we take immense pride in resolving the following challenges:

  • We ensured that previous residents did not have to endure the distress of relocating or searching for another care home. This not only saved families from headaches but also relieved the burden on Torbay Council.
  • By revitalizing Aveland Court, we created 23 new employment opportunities in Torquay, contributing positively to the local economy.
  • Our efforts prevented the closure of a care home in Torquay, where the availability of elderly care spaces was already insufficient.
  • We diligently addressed the compliance issues highlighted by CQC, resulting in an improved rating of “Good” by CQC for our care home.
  • In operating our care home, we actively engaged with numerous local suppliers and tradespeople, supporting the local community.

We take great pride in being nominated as finalists for the Torbay Weekly Business Awards, which recognizes our relentless efforts.

Contrary to common perceptions, care homes are not bleak and gloomy places. We strive to provide our residents with fulfilling experiences, ensuring their later years are as enriched as possible. We are grateful to Torbay Weekly for acknowledging our commitment to making a positive impact in the social care sector.
